WHAKAPONO | 2 to 5 Years

The WHAKAPONO group comprises of tamariki/children ages two to five years old.

Toddlers are curious, active and learning to explore and are seeking to make sense of the world around them. The curriculum we provide is responsive to their rapidly growing capabilities. The Kaiako provide a loving, nurturing, and safe environment and show the tamariki that they have faith and trust in their growing capabilities.

Young children have increasing capacity of language and inquiry and an increasing understanding of others’ points of view. The kaiako provides challenging learning opportunities and provocations for them to expand and extend their learning experiences.

Kaiako support the children to learn and develop the knowledge, skills or competencies, and attitudes necessary for them to be ready and to transition smoothly to school or kura.
